DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster a cultue of clear communication and transparency for all employees and managers to ensure that American Rivers meets best management practices, complies with all laws and regulations, and creates an efficient, effective workplace.
 
Work with the VP for Finance and Administration to establish clear organization-wide policies and procedures and for communicating those polices and procedures to all employees.
 
Train staff on organizational policies and ensure that they are understood and adhered to.  In cases in which the policies are violated, work with the VP for Finance and Administration to enforce policies.  
 
Personally handle high-priority human resources issues and situations.
 
Oversee the handling of day-to-day Administrative issues by the Deputy Director and the Administrative Assistant.
 
Budget Management: creates the organization’s annual administrative budget and manages expenses to the budget.  Seek savings through efficiencies including those with vendors.
 
Work with the VP of Finance and Administration to set benefit policies for the organization.
 
Ensure information technology and electronic communications meet the needs of all staff.
 
Oversee new office planning including office setup, IT and equipment requirements, and personnel matters.
 
Ensure that systems are in place so that American Rivers can grow quickly while maintaining best management practices.  Maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Promote a positive office environment and help maintain high office morale.
 
 
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
* College Degree and a minimum of seven to ten year progressively more responsible positions in Administration and/or Human Resources;
* Excellent oral and written communication skills;
* Highly organized with intense attention to detail;
* Significant experience in training staff and developing training materials for organizational policies and procedures;
* Ability to delegate and prioritize;
* Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment;
